WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
How we go about doing things
1.
SPECIFICATION
We explore what functionality the site will need to fulfil the clients marketing, operational and customer support needs and we specify and agree the perimeters of the project, its cost and its schedule.
2.
DESIGN
We create a design for each page template for the project manager to present to the client. We alter the designs until the client is satisfied and signs them off.
3.
CONTENT
The agencies who hire us are usually subject specialists in their clients market and are best placed handling copy writing, tone of voice and message and they provide us with the site’s written content. However, we have long experience in copy writing and SEO and can be involved in this process if required.
4.
BUILD
We build the site. This is the stage we love the most.
5.
TEST
We test the site thoroughly and it goes through a rigorous quality control process by a team member who has not been involved in the project.
6.
SIGN OFF
We show the website to the client in a private development area. We make any required alterations until the client is happy to sign the website off as ready to go live.
7.
GO LIVE
We schedule a time to set the site live. We either make the required domain changes to allow us to redirect the domain to a new server environment or upload and configure the development site on the clients existing hosting service. If it is the former then there will inevitably be some domain instability as domain name servers update so we would schedule it late at night or on the weekend.
8.
TRAIN
If our client or the end client’s in-house team wants to maintain the site themselves we provide one-one-one training, screen-cast training videos and if they can’t remember how to do something we are always happy to go over it again using Zoom and screen share.
