Sometimes you want a particular department to be able to manage and post content to their section of the site but not to be able to edit or change any other section. This spreads out responsibility for the site, reducing the reliance on a single editor, simplifies the training process and makes the site updating more idiot proof.

What we do is create a specific user level for each department and restrict their access to just their content, e.g.:

  • HR can post and remove job listings.
  • The sports department can list competition results.

All the interfaces are therefore streamlined and idiot proof.
